My primary issue, outside the lack of settings customization in any form, is the game is just boring. Something new seems to happen everytime you die (assuming that's what happens) but there doesn't seem to be any motivation to keep going. If that is the point of the game then bravo.. This is an art game, with emphasis on Art. What gameplay there is is borderline unplayable, but a bizarre and disturbing art style make it worth it. I recommend buying it for a dollar, finding a walkthrough to get through the unintuitive parts, and enjoying the dark, surreal horror of The Lady.. Unique, and genuinely creepy. The Lady has no arms. She has beat-up nipple-less titts exposed for your viewing pleasure. She uses her head to smash falling glass shards, reminiscent of your shattered psyche trickling down upon little lost you. She imposes barbed-wire boundaries around her. She towel-whips her head to shoo away freaky-looking drug-induced clones of her. The entire time the sound effects soundtrack to the original Psycho movie creeps through in startles and scares. The end boss is The Lady's big, sad and upset face shooting out barbed wire like she's the box from the Hellraiser movie, while she pathetically whips one of her pigtails at you with the mighty effort of a lethargic, comatose horse. Watch out for your falling shattered psyche---in the end, that's your greatest enemy in The Lady.There's this one sound, among many creepy sounds, that is as a phonograph might sound after the record was finished playing... this sound is in the background through most of the game. It's irritating. It's insane. It's madness. It's perfect for this game. If you want to be creeped out, or feel disturbed and self-conscious in a paranoid way, drag this lonely silent schizo onto your screen, crank the sound up, and burn some incense, because by the end of the game you'll sh-t in your straightjacket again while you kneel in submission and trembling fear to your amputee queen. Beware: she'll cunningly shatter the shattered remains of your shattered psyche into smithereens.. No. Bad game. Bad.. from what i have played its an okay game..... still going to play more of it later one but i wouldnt recommed this game to other people. the game play is simple enough just i dunno its a MEH game too me.. crashed 3 times after I died to the boss and left me with no Taskbar.Had to restart my pc twice10/10. Quite accurate compared to real feel of anxiety.. Pure unresponsive masochisim. This "game" gives all-new meaning to the words "looks great, but lacking in gameplay". And believe me, I'm perfectly open-minded, believe that games can definitely be "art", and am furthermore the kind of person who actually likes the odd "walking simulator"! But The Lady isn't even that, it's...erm...♥♥♥♥ me, I don't know what it is. An excuse for someone to show off their admittedly intriguing visual style? An exercise in MASOCHISM, perhaps?! Hmmm, let's see what the Store page has to say about the game. "A 2D Surreal Puzzle Horror", apparently. Hmmm, okay. Surreal...certainly. Horror...hmmm, maybe at a pinch (it's definitely "disturbing", I'll give it that). 2D...well, yes, by all means. PUZZLE?! Well, sure...if a super-primitive, mega-minimalistic, barely-responsive variation of GALAGA is your idea of a "puzzle" game, then I guess it might be that, too!! The greatest "puzzle" herein is quite what the dev or devs of this game were high on when they made this highly - ahem - "trippy" product, and one can only hope that no pregnant actresses were murdered or any slogans were written in blood on any walls, but I fear the creative process this time around may have been a messy one. My guess is that Terry Gilliam had a daughter, who was♥♥♥♥♥♥♥by Communion aliens, and against her father's best wishes became a video game designer in her mid-teens as a way to avoid falling asleep, lest the black-eyed demons come for her again. Absolute ♥♥♥♥ing madness. With NO save or check-points, no less. ABSOLUTE ♥♥♥♥ING MADNESS.Verdict: 4/10.
